Brilliant live performances at Balmain Leagues Clubs, Doyalson RSL, Corporate Functions and many pubs throughout Sydney have left patrons and clients a-buzz with excitement.
The attraction of “The Big Hitters” is the combination of Wayne “Junior” Pearce with his renowned impersonations of such icons as Peter Garrett (Midnight Oil), Dean Hennessey’s amazing vocals, great musicians and a determination to make every night the best party night the crowd has ever seen.
Although people know me primarily through my football achievements, my family has much stronger links to music than sport. My dad Ray was a drummer in a band, my mum Jean played bagpipes and at the ripe old age of 97, my grandmother still plays piano.
Although I’ve always liked music, it wasn’t until the age of 37 that I decided to learn guitar and have singing lessons.
Four years later, I linked up with a bunch of musicians to do a one-off gig for the North Ryde Hawks Junior Rugby League club and we called ourselves “Wayne Pearce and the Big Hitters.”
